Operations

Operations at Duraline continue to move from strength to strength. Our Cape Town plant currently produces and sells over 7 million liters of paint each year according to the strictest ISO 9001 quality control standards. In the spirit of constant advancement, Duraline has fleshed out its laboratory extensively. TechnoSource as the independent facility is now known, comprises 3 divisions. First our Research & Development division, most specifically through the appointment of German trained Jutta Wackerle as our resident paint chemist, has resulted in the development of several exciting new products which continue to add to our ever increasing market share Werner Botha (Polymer Science Institute at the University of Stellenbosch) has also joined TechnoSource in the Quality Control department and is working extensively utilizing our spectrophotometer technology to exceed the most stringent of colour control standards. Finally Tiaan Smith handles our Customer Care department where he responds to all field complaints, including those requiring on-site inspections, provides technical assistance and offers our clients a specification & quotation service. The production floor is busier every day, but thankfully excellent planning allows us to keep the pace with ease. Nonetheless we are pursuing a full automation of our production facilities. Currently we are in the early phases of this process and are installing bulk storage tanks for polymers as well as underground solvent storage facilities. Eventually our product batches will be totally automatically manufactured, from raw material to filled container, and moreover electronically measured and controlled throughout!

Colour Tip
Warm or Cool?
Colors are often referred to as "warm" and "cool." Orange, red, and pink are considered "warm" colors, while blues, greens, and violet are thought to be "cool." Knowing the theory behind color can help you select the right tone for the feel you're trying to achieve.

Skimrite Supreme
SKIMRITE is an acrylic based fiber re-enforced skimming compound with superior adhesion and smoothing capabilities. It is also suitable to be used on minor to medium cracks and Joints and can be used to correct minor surface imperfection.
